In a town dominated by coffee, cup cakes and fast food, how delightful to find a family run restaurant serving such fresh and delicious food. We went there for lunch at the weekend and had the mezze plate (built for one, but good for two) bulked out with a slice of pie that came with such generous add ons that it was a meal in itself. Don't be put off by the understated decor - this is a great little place, serving food just as it should be: ample, wholesome, delicious and affordable.

Lunch at Cafe Kottani, a Greek cafe in Bury St Edmunds.Stopped here as vegan options and prices are very reasonable.Limited seating though there are some tables further at the back and tables outside.Find yourself a unoccupied table and order at the counter. We ordered Meze 2 and a vegan Mushroom and Potatoe pie. Food was delicious and coffees were equally as nice.Single unisex cubicle toilet at the back.Definitely worth stopping here to eat.

The Meze was excellent, great selection, meatballs succulent, bread moreish, tzatziki fresh. The Phyllo spinach and feta pie was a savoury delight. Completely random surprise find on our tour of Suffolk, fantastic friendly service, a recommendation for sure …

Nice warm drinks on a cold day. Great service. Small town feel in the cafe with some 80s pop music. Definitely a vibe for Bury St Edmunds.

Beautiful restaurant, fantastic Greek food! Spoilt for choice here. Highly recommend a meze plate (see pic of the menu below), the meatballs and the gigante beans are so good! They also have an array of Greek desserts and sweet pastries that are perfect with a coffee if your not looking for lunch. I will definitely be back next time I am in Bury St Edmunds.

Lovely place to eat Greek food. We had a pork gyros and moussaka along with a couple of the cakes. There were no highchairs which might of been an issue for some young toddlers but our 2 year old sat on our laps. The area is quite small but cosy so it isn't a suprise. We enjoyed our food, friendly staff and nice view into bury town centre watching the people bustling around the shops. Would recommend!

We loved our gryso and vegan mezze. Both are excellent. The okra and the aubergines were particularly good. Best okra I have ever enjoyed.
